After J.Storm took the first semi-final, their opponents were still to be decided for the grand finals at the World Showdown of Esports. The second semi-final was between Team Serenity, the Chinese team who have been making waves in the Dota 2 world ever since their run through TI8, and The Final Tribe, the all-Swedish team which went 3-0 in the group stages.
The first game of the series was extremely hard fought, with neither team really taking a massive lead in the game and core items coming for everyone around the same time. With Jin ‘zhizhizhi’ Zhiyi on a Phantom Lancer, TFT definitely had a timer to secure their victory before PL got too farmed. But the Swedes were unable to hold and Serenity took a 1-0 lead.
Looks like @thefinaltribe is hyped and ready to fight back against Team Serenity in Game 2! 💪

With a Meepo pick for Rasmus ‘Chessie’ Blomdin in Game two, TFT looked to make their way back into the series and tie things up and it seemed to be promising for a brief period as they took great fights and assaulted their opponent’s towers. Even though TFT were constantly able to find kills, they found themselves losing barracks and constantly being nearly wiped. With Meepo being nearly completely shutdown, TFT did not have much hope for a victory. While the game slowed down a bit, it didn’t help TFT and Serenity closed the series 2-0.
Unfortunately for The Final Tribe they are eliminated in an admirable 3rd/4th place, taking a $10,000 share of the prize pool. As for Team Serenity, they move on to the Grand Finals in just a few moments where they face Jimmy ‘DeMoN’ Ho’s J.Storm squad as the teams battle for the first place prize.
