After 19 days of matches the first season of WePlay! Pushka League has reached the finals stages with Team Secret displaying absolute domination across the Europe and CIS regions.

Puppey and co topped Group A dropping just one series, but once the playoffs stage kicked off, they cruised with clean 2-0 victories through all the upper bracket series to secure a top two finish. Their latest victim is the youth squad of Virtus.pro, VP.Prodigy.

VP.P have clearly exceeded all expectations by making it to the top three at their first tournament filled with tier one competitors. In fact, they managed to place better than the main squad of the organization, as Virtus.pro got eliminated earlier today in the 4th place by Team Liquid. However, despite their great showing in the tournament, VP.P got heavily outclassed by Team Secret in the upper bracket finals. They were out drafted and outplayed in game one with a last pick Tinker from Secret. Prodigy had a Centaur Warrunner and an Oracle on their side, which prolonged the game past the 40-minute mark, but surviving the early aggression didn’t mean a better chance in the later stage for them. Secret paired Tinker with Bane making a deadly combo for anyone caught in the Nightmare – Fiend’s Grip – Missile sequence.

The series went from bad to worse for VP.P, who had to fight in game two against  Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen’s signature Lycan. He took the hero mid lane, while Michał “Nisha” Jankowski played Queen of Pain in the safe lane. As expected, the towers went down extremely fast, leaving no time for VP.P to develop their Morphing game plan. Fortunately for them, the defeat against Secret doesn’t come with elimination. They still have a chance to make it back in the grand finals via the lower bracket finals where Team Liquid are waiting.

WePlay! Pushka League will come to a close Thursday, May 12. Team Liquid vs VP.Prodigy lower bracket final will open the day at 13:00 CET/19:00 PST, followed by the best-of-five grand finals.
