Team Secret, the team that dominated the 2018-2019 DPC season, have been eliminated from TI9 by Team Liquid. Liquid continued their amazing lower bracket run by winning convincingly with a 2-0 scoreline and set up a date with PSG.LGD in the lower bracket finals on the final day of TI9. Team Secret will have to setlle for 4th place while Team Liquid are assured top 3 finish with a chance to challenge for their second Aegis.

Secret started the day well with a quick 2-0 win over Vici gaming. And quick is the right word, as both games lasted just over 20 minutes. With momentum on their side and the fact that they had beaten Team Liquid every time they met in the DPC season, it seemed Secret would be the favorites. But Liquid drafted a Meepo in game 1 and an Alchemist in game 2, two stong w33haa heroes to which Team Secret had no reply. In both games, Secret put up a fight to hold off Liquid in a hope that thier cores would eventually come online, but to no avail. In the post match interview, Secret’s captain Puppey spoke about how The International is completely different from any other tournament in the year and that the best way to practice for TI was to play TI.

Five days of The International 2019 are over and we have just one more day to go! The last day will start with PSG.LGD taking on Team Liquid and their winner will play OG in the best of 5 grand finals! There is a lot at stake here – for OG and Liquid, they will try to be the first teams to win TI twice while PSG.LGD will want to make sure they bring the Aegis back to China for the first time after Wings Gaming in 2016. It is going to be an insane day of Dota 2!
