The two weeks WePlay! Pushka League group stage has come to an end with somewhat surprising results for both CIS and Europe regions.

Judging on the ESL One Los Angeles Online, a tournament held just before the Pushka League, OG and Virtus.pro, the two grand finalists of that tournament were expected to dominate at WePlay! as well. At the same time, Team Nigma had prior to the Pushka League a record of three out three WePlay! trophies secured only this year. The Bukovel Minor 2020, the Tug of War: Mad Moon and the WeSave! Charity Play titles have all gone to the TI9 runners up. However, it seems like the isolation is taking its toll on Team Nigma. After placing top eight at the ESL One LA Online, Nigma couldn’t make it out of the group stage at Pushka League and along with OG and OG.Seed will have to watch the playoffs unfolding from the sidelines.

Team Secret took the top seed in the EU group losing just one series to Team Liquid. With an overall score of 11-3, they are the team with the best group play performance from both regions.

In CIS, HellRaisers delivered the big surprise, taking the top spot with an overall score of 11-4, which will pit them in the playoffs against the fourth placed team from Europe, namely Ninjas in Pyjamas. The CIS battle for a spot to the playoffs has unfortunately brought a negative record in the Dota 2 history books. B8 got eliminated after losing 12 games in a row. Their personal losing streak is now at 0-24, the longest a Dota 2 team has ever registered. Team Spirit and FlyToMoon have also lost the group play battle, but FTMt finished in fifth place and will get to play again from Division 1 in the next season, while Spirit got relegated to Division 2.

The WePlay! Pushka League playoffs bring the top four CIS and top four EU teams together in a double elimination bracket. The seeding is ensuring that the grand finals will be a CIS versus Europe duel for the WePlay! Pushka League title, but before the battle is set to commence, the group play has one tiebreaker game to be played today, May 7.

Nigma and OG.Seed will engage in a  best-of-one at 17:00 CET to determine which one will be relegated to the next season’s Division 2 and which one will get an invite to Division 1.

WePlay! Pushka League playoffs will kick off this coming Friday, May 8 with three quarterfinals series scheduled as follows:

13:00 CET – HellRaisers vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
16:00 CET – Alliance vs VP.Prodigy
19:00 CET – Virtus.pro vs Team Liquid
