Not even a full month has passed since ESL One had to deal with five teams dropping all at once from their event in Mumbai and they already have to announce replacements for the next tournament.
ESL One Birmingham is scheduled to take place May 23 to 2nd of June and it’s set to be one of the most stacked non-Dota Pro Circuit event of this season. All the top contenders have either qualified or received a direct invite to the event and 12 teams are expected to battle on the Arena Birmingham. Team Secret, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD Gaming, Vici Gaming, OG, Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro were the organizers’ choices for a direct invite and all the teams confirmed their participation.
However, Virtus.pro have also accepted an invite to Adrenaline Cyber League which will take place in Moscow, Russia on the 25th and 26th of May. Interestingly enough, VP headlined the ESL One invites for Birmingham. Their participation was made public by ESL One on the 23rd of March, while Adrenaline Cyber League announced them nearly two weeks later, on the 4th of April.
Regardless of where the misunderstanding was or where the communication broke down between the two organizers, VP will now be in Moscow in May, while Gambit Esports will travel in their place to ESL One Birmingham.
