Infamous and paiN Gaming were for a long time the two dominant forces in the South American region, but their times of glory are now outshined by beastcoast, Thunder Predator, FURIA and NoPing e-sports.

Their months of struggle led to drastic measures as both organizations released their players. Unfortunately, the lack of results for paiN brought full disbandment of the Dota 2 team with no announcement for future projects.

In the current season, paiN Gaming managed to clinch a spot at the Leipzig Major, however, they placed bottom in their group and the playoffs pitted them in the lower bracket against beastcoast, who eliminated them on the last place. Moving forward, paiN lost the qualifiers battle for the third round of Minor and Major tournaments and haven’t been included in the online format of ESL One Los Angeles or the BTS Pro Series. Their most recent trail of defeats registered in the StayAtHome Brazil Edition of Aorus League 2020 and a week later the organization announced the full disbandment of the Dota 2 team.

paiN Gaming disbanded roster:

  • William “hFn” Medeiros
  • Leonardo “Mandy” Viana
  • Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento
  • Kaue “Dunha1” Camuci
  • Anderson “444” Santos

Infamous took a different approach and although they released four of their players, they are rebuilding the team around their captain Mariano “Papita” Caneda. He will now be joined by Christian “Accel” Cruz, an Infamous veteran, one of the players who put the base of the Infamous Dota team back in 2015 when the Peruvian organization became the first to attend a Valve Major. With the two well-established SA captains joining forces, Infamous brought aboard three youngsters to rebuild the team and promise to run trials for their secondary squad, Infamous.Young as well.

Infamous current roster:

  • Pakazs
  • Kxy-
  • Mariano “Papita” Caneda
  • Michael-
  • Christian “Accel” Cruz
