Royal Never Give Up formed just a few weeks ago behind the veil of some major drama in the Dota 2 Community but after failing to qualify for the Kuala Lumpur Minor, the team were hopeful to make up for it when they entered into the China Qualifiers for the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor. Team Serenity, after performing amazingly for their first ever TI appearance, had been continuing to make waves in the Dota 2 world. The team were always entertaining to watch and put their all into every performance on the battlefield. After only missing qualification for the Kuala Lumpur Major by 1 spot, the team were hoping to secure the 1 China spot at Minor. With both teams wanting to start their first Dota 2 Pro Circuit Season off well, their series would be intense.

The two China squads had met in the Winner’s Final and Serenity came out victorious in that series – but RNG would be the downfall of Newbee and make their way into the grand final. The first game started off as a close match-up, but Serenity were quickly on the front foot – but after not many kills being seen through the mid-game stage, RNG found their fight and took complete control of the game. From then on, Serenity stood no chance and dropped the first of the series. While game two saw them tie the series with their well-known Phantom Lancer for Jin ‘zhizhizhi’ Zhiyi, the team were unable to find their footing in the final game.

RNG were able to completely shutdown their opponents Spectre while Du ‘Monet’ Peng’s Luna ripped through them and secured the series 2-1 and claimed the China spot at the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor. The full Royal Never Give Up Roster which will be heading to the Minor is:

  • Du “Monet” Peng
  • Tang “xy” Weijie
  • Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong
  • Sun “Srf” Runfa
  • Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan
  • Adam Shah “343” bin Akhtar Hussein
  • Sub: Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong

Next up on the qualifier block is the EU and CIS region as the teams slowly come into place for the first Minor of the new Dota 2 Pro Circuit Season.
