The China qualifiers for the OGA Dota Pit Minor have come to a close with two teams from the region finding their spot at the upcoming event.
The first team to qualify from the region is Royal Never Give Up. After making it to the first Minor of the season, DreamLeague Season 10, and finishing in an admirable third place, RNG have barely had much more showing in the Dota 2 scene. While they did progress to the recent StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor, they were part of the first teams eliminated. The team were able to beat EHOME in the upper bracket of the qualifiers and claim a spot at the Minor – hoping to finally make it into a Major.
While they were beaten in the upper bracket by RNG, EHOME had themselves a second shot at reaching another Minor this season. After a fantastic win at the Bucharest Minor and a reasonable finish at the Chongqing Major, EHOME seemed to be on the path to the top – until disaster struck. With the injury to Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida, EHOME have struggled to find any footing again and since then have had multiple roster changes. However, the Chinese squad have now managed to fight their way into another Minor and while the competition will be fierce, they still have a shot at winning again.
The qualifiers for the Minor are still underway but by the end of the weekend all eight teams will be in place to fight it out in Split, Croatia at the OGA Dota Pit Minor.
