As COVID-19 continues to run rampant across the globe, causing tournaments to be cancelled everywhere, South America has announced a local event – the Rivalry No Major No Problem tournament.
Even without Minors or Majors in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit, many organizers around the world are working on and preparing online tournaments to keep us all entertained as we many remain on lockdown. Rivalry are no different as they confirmed a South American event, featuring eight teams from the region fighting for a share of $5,000. The No Major No Problem tournament will begin today, March 17th 2020 and run through until Sunday, March 22nd, with the eight teams involved split into two groups and fighting to reach the playoff stage.
The eight teams which will be involved in the event are:
- Thunder Predator
- Team Unknown
- Infamous Young
- FURIA Esports
- paiN Gaming
- NoPing e-sports
- Omega Gaming
As the virus continues to make everyone around the world uneasy about being in public spaces, online tournaments may continue to pop up for many games, as players, teams and fans attempt to limit their public exposure. Although this event is limited to only South American teams, many other organizers have begun to host online tournaments, such as WePlay!
One South American team is missing from this event though, beastcoast, as they have announced recently that they will be skipping a few events in order to focus on their staff and players well-being. The No Major No Problem event will kick off later today and we’re hoping to witness some epic Dota 2 action from the South American teams involved.
