December is shaping up to bring us one of the biggest and best non-Dota 2 Pro Circuit events as the ONE Esports World Pro Invitational continues to add brilliant teams to its lineup, with Gambit Esports and Team Aster now confirmed.
We have already begun the new season of Dota 2 in a magnificent manner; crowning the first ever Southeast Asian ESL One champion at a thrilling tournament in Hamburg and witnessing a CIS powerhouse rise again at the same event. But this is only the beginning of things to come as the final two months of 2019 have a substantial amount of Dota 2, especially considering that the first leg of the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational will be coming to us from Singapore. The event already has a lineup which includes some of the absolute biggest and most well-known teams in the game and now there are two more with Gambit Esports and Team Aster being confirmed.
While we may not have seen much from Aster so far this season, we’re soon to see a lot more from the rebuilt Chinese roster. Aster have recently added some amazing players to their roster including Pan ‘Fade’ Yi and the much-loved Song ‘Sccc’ Chun – both of which helped guide the team to qualification for the Chengdu Major. The team now join a host of massive names in Singapore for the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational, including the recent runner’s up at ESL One Hamburg, Gambit Esports. Even though they finished second, Gambit seemed to be the only team able to push TNC Predators to the limit in Hamburg just a couple of days ago and on the back of that, they will sit among the Dota 2 giants in Singapore later this year.
The ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational takes place from December 17th 2019 and runs through until the 22nd, featuring 12 of the top teams from around the world fighting for a share of a $500,000 prize pool. With the addition of Aster and Gambit, there are now 10 teams in total confirmed for the event – some of whom we will be seeing for the first time outside of DPC qualifiers. The event has quickly shaped up to seem like one of the best the year has to offer and we’re excited to see which other teams join the lineup in the coming weeks.
