As the European qualifiers leg for the third Minor of the Dota Pro Circuit has just one slot to offer, the competition is shaping as extremely fierce, and the fans have to prepare for some super exciting games to watch in the coming days.
Nigma, Alliance and Team liquid are the first three teams to have dropped to the Minor qualifiers after a rather lacklustre performance in the Los Angeles Major qualifier campaign. For Nigma this is the second time this season when they will fight for Minor slot, but this time the team looked rather lost. After a brutal loss to Aggressive Mode on day one of the group stage series, the TI9 runner up team regressed to a few months ago and tried to play something very familiar for those who have watched OG lifting a second Aegis of Champions above their heads.
Completely ignoring the Io nerfs and the two big patches post TI9, Nigma tried to push themselves in the Major qualifiers playoffs with an Io carry and a core Tiny. Their trick worked against OG.Seed but it totally failed against Secret. Heading into a tiebreaker for the third slot in the group, Nigma took down OG.Seed once more, this time around with more of a conventional draft.
In the qualifiers decider, Alliance managed to save themselves from a complete disaster by taking down 2-0 OG.Seed. The Minor European qualifiers will commence on the 13th of February with a double elimination bracket. The fourth placed team in the LA Major qualifiers playoffs will also join the brawl for the single slot to the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.
