There’s no better rest from a competitive Dota 2 career than playing with friends in the open qualifiers for a Major. DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major and the WePlay! Bukovel Minor regional qualifiers are approaching and some of the free agents are gearing up for battle.
Returned home in Malaysia after three years spent with Team Secret, Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng will play in the upcoming qualifiers side by side Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross. Both players announced at the beginning of the season their intentions of taking a competitive break to recharge their batteries and spend time with their families. The MDL Chengdu Major title was claimed by TNC Predator this past weekend in China, which puts the SEA region at the top of the DPC rankings.
MDL Chengdu was not only TNC’s first Major victory, but it was also the first one in the history of DPC tournaments to feature no western teams in the top three. While some of the western teams are returning with the upcoming qualifiers, the SEA region is also getting a few legendary players making a return to fight for a spot at the second Major or Minor of the season.
A week after Ohaiyo, Mushi and YamateH sinned up on Valve’s Major registration page under the Brothers United tag, MidOne and ninjaboogie took their turn to reveal their stack named SEAMonkeys.
- Lee “Chidori” Jia He
- Yeik Nai “MidOne” Zheng
- Nicholas “zeal” Lim
- Ooi “KennyO” Yew Kah
- Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross
The next batch of closed regional qualifiers will kick off on the 1st of December, however, the teams eligible for an invite are those who already have DPC points attached to their name. SEAMonkeys and Brothers United are most likely going to fight through the open qualifiers gauntlet, which is scheduled to commence in just two days time, on the 28th of November
