The International 2019 is one day away. Early in the morning, Shanghai time, on August 14, all 18 teams were present at the annual players’ meeting with Valve and were presented the group draws and the schedule for the biggest tournament of the year.

The biggest news about the group stage is that the TI8 Champions and the runners up, PSG.LGD were, as expected, seeded in different groups. LGD will be playing on Group A while OG on group B.  TI9 is now bound to start with a few grudge matches which for sure will make the games even more exciting.

Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen’s new team, Chaos Esports Club is in Group A with Team Liquid. The Dota Pro Circuit leaders, Team Secret are also in Group A, while in Group B we will have OG fighting Evil Geniuses yet again. Virtus.pro, second in the DPC rankings, are also in Group B.

Those hoping to see an old rivalry unfolding straight from the group stage matches have to wait and see if both Alliance and Na’Vi will make it to playoffs as they’ve been drawn in different groups.

TI9 group stage starts on August 15 at 05:00 CET, 09:00 local time and will run until August 18 in a two-game series, Round robin format. Top four teams from each group will advance into the upper bracket playoffs, 5th to 8th placed teams from each group will start their TI playoffs adventure in the lower bracket, while the bottom team from each group will be eliminated.
