The final day of the StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4 begun with a China showdown between LGD Gaming and Newbee – and from the get-go, it was clearly going to be fantastic.

LGD Gaming found their way into the semi-finals after a hard fought victory over compLexity Gaming after they were dropped to the “lower bracket” by Team Liquid. The squad would be hoping to make their way into a Minor final and take some much needed Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points. Newbee, while sitting in the top 5 of the Point Rankings, would still be looking to claim another victory and keep moving up after their Genting victory just last week.

Game one took us on a rollercoaster from the time that the draft was occurring right until the end of it – with Rubick, Medusa, Omniknight, Tidehunter, Naga Siren and Enigma all making a showing in one game and preparing us for what could be some of the most epic team fights. It was LGD who came out with the big plays, dismantling their Chinese counter-parts in only twenty-two minutes with some brilliant Naga Siren song into Enigma Black Hole combo’s that secured an easy victory.
Game two saw both teams going all out in an absolutely intense match – where it looked as though Newbee was assured a tied series. However, LGD refused to give up and through some brilliant defense and a couple of crucial Ravage steals from Xu ‘fy’ Linsen on the Rubick, it turned the game into a crazy almost-base race  situation. But in the end LGD were able to hold out, pummel their opponents and claim victory over Newbee.

Unfortunately for Newbee, they would be eliminated from the StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4, claiming a 3rd-4th place. LGD will move on to the grand finals to be played later today – and their opponents will be decided in the next match up between Mineski and Team Liquid.
