Chinese regional qualifiers for the second Major of the season are done and dusted. Three teams will head to Leipzig, Germany mid-January 2020 to fight for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 Dota Pro Circuit points.

Vici Gaming, who are currently second in the DPC rankings courtesy of their performance at the first Major of the season, MDL Chengdu, secured another Major slot and will have the chance to take the lead if they continue to play the same high level of Dota. In the regional qualifiers, despite playing on a new patch, they only dropped two games, and in today’s playoffs series against Team Aster, counting for the Major slot, they simply ran over their adversaries. Game one was a completely stomp from VG, who gave away just 4 kills while they hit their Night Stalker strategy timers perfectly to take a quick 1-0 lead in the best-of-three match. They kept the aggressive stance in game two as well, but swapped the heroes a bit and ran a duo core with Gyrocopter and Faceless Void to keep Aster’s Morphling under control.

In the other semifinals series, Invictus Gaming managed to take down EHOME 2-1 to join VG at the Major. Unfortunately for EHOME, who went through a series of roster changes after the first Major of the season, the only way to bounce back is to claim a spot at the WePlay! Bukovel Minor and win the whole tournament in early January to get a ticket to Leipzig. It’s not an impossible scenario, but it’s obviously one that will require a lot more work from them. In the first leg of DPC tournaments, it was Invictus Gaming that made a Minor detour to accomplish a top three finish at the first Major of the season. EHOME got relegated to the Minor qualifiers after also losing the lower bracket finals to Team Aster, who are the third Chinese team to claim a spot at the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major.

The WePlay! Bukovel Minor Chinese qualifiers playoffs start on the 5th of December in a double elimination bracket, where only the grand finals winner will get to go the LAN portion of the event. The four teams fighting for the one slot are EHOME, Royal Never Give Up, CDEC Gaming and Look for Smile.
