Second round of Chinese Dota Pro Circuit regional qualifiers shapes to be nearly identical with the first one, in spite of the new patch and of what should have been the return of PSG.LGD to the competitive season. The battle for a spot at the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major or the WePlay! Bukovel Minor started with a big surprise in the open qualifiers, where PSG.LGD got knocked out in the second round. The loss will force them to go through another round of open next year, in February 2020, when the Los Angeles Major qualifiers kick off.
Until then, EHOME, Team Aster, Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming will play on the 3rd of December for one of the three tickets to the Leipzig Major. For iG, this is a slight improvement in results, as they failed in the first round of qualifiers to make it to the Major playoffs. Nonetheless, they still made it to the Chengdu Major by claiming a spot at the Dota Summit Minor, where they sailed through the bracket and claimed the title. Arrived at the Chengdu Major, Invictus Gaming placed third and earned 2100 DPC points for their run. Another top four finish at the next Major would pretty much consolidate their spot at TI10. But for that to happen, tomorrow they need to clinch one of the 3 tickets to the event.
From the 10 teams that entered the regional qualifiers, two are already out of the contention completely. Dark Knight and Revive, both coming from open brackets, placed last in their respective groups and will have to wait till February 2020 for another shot at a DPC tournament.
Look for Smile and CDEC Gaming secured their place in the Bukovel Minor qualifiers starting on December 5, and will be joined by the winner between Royal Never Give Up and Newbee, the fourth placed teams in group A and B, respectively, and by the squad that will be left on the outside in the Major qualifiers playoffs.
