A couple of weeks back, the Brazilian organization paiN Gaming was left in shambles after their entire Dota 2 roster disbanded. But they regrouped fast enough for the second round of Major and Minor qualifiers, and for now they’ve managed to put a stop to the beastcoast domination.
Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento and William “hFn” Medeiros are two of the former members of the team who returned to base with the purpose of building a new team for the organization that has been their home for so many years. On the new line-up, Kingrd has also swapped back to offlane, a role he hasn’t played competitively for more than three years. Through the DreamLeague Season 13:The Leipzig Major group stage matches, paiN dropped only two games and topped Group A, where beastcoast were also seeded. In the playoffs, they took down 2-0 Ego Boys and not even a Meepo draft from beastcoast could stop them in the finals from claiming the first SA ticket to the Major.
The tournament is scheduled to take place next year, 18th to 26th of January, with 16 teams fighting for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 Dota Pro Circuit Points, and it will mark paiN Gaming’s first Major appearance this season.
paiN Gaming roster from position 1 to 5:
- William “hFn” Medeiros
- Leonardo “Mandy” Viana
- Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento
- Kaue “Dunha1” Camuci
- Anderson “444” Santos
SA Major qualifiers will resume later today, with beastcoast, Ego Boys and Vicious Gaming fighting for the second slot.
