Since the third place finish at The International 2017 with LGD Forever Young, He “Inflame” Yongzheng struggled to find success. He stayed with LFY for another year after TI7, but the team failed to qualify for TI8 and Inflame moved to Newbee for the 2018-2019 season.
Unfortunately, Newbee hit a bottom low in the previous season, and by the end of 2018 Inflame moved again to the newly formed Team Sirius and tried to salvage the season with the last Major on the Dota Pro Circuit schedule. However, Team Sirius lost the Major qualifiers and although they made it to the Minor preceding the event, Inflame was replaced from the roster. Ahead of the TI9 qualifiers, he joined as a coach Royal, the secondary team of Royal Never Give Up, but his team didn’t pass the open qualifiers.
With WoW Classic launched right after TI9, Inflame got sucked into the world of Azeroth. He joined a group of old friends, Dota 2 legendary players and community figures, and his guild was actually credited with world first Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. The WoW Classic refuge seems to be over now for Inflame, who over the past couple of weeks has played as stand in for CDEC Gaming. He placed fourth with them at the Hainan Master Cup and continued to play with them through the weekly games of China Dota2 Development League.
A couple of days ago he made a Weibo post which sounded more like an “announcement of an announcement,” hinting at a possible retirement after the current season.
Yesterday, on November 7, CDEC Gaming have officially registered Inflame on Valve’s Majors registration list. He will be replacing Shen “123” Chao who decided to take a break due to “personal reasons”, as CDEC Gaming stated on their Weibo page.
CDEC Gaming are undefeated after four weeks in the China Dota2 Development League Season 2, with a record of 8-0, which places them at the top of the group stage. With no other tournaments on the horizon and with a nearly a month long break in the Chinese league, the next CDEC appearance will most likely be made on the 1st of December with the regional qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major.
CDEC Gaming roster from position 1 to 5:
