While Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere took the first place in their respective groups to advance to the Los Angeles Major qualifiers playoffs, the second spots were a little bit more contested and a couple of surprises emerged at the end of the group stage.

Group B finals standings were decided only today, in a best of one tiebreaker between HellRaisers and forZe Esports. The latter, with Stanislav “Bzz” Glushan and Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorokhod on their side, had their fair share of success in the group stage, but two draw results and a victory were not enough to place them above HR. In today’s best-of-one counting for a spot in the Major qualifiers playoffs, forZe tried to out draft HR with a last pick Meepo, but they didn’t take into consideration their adversaries strong lockdown spells while also having the elusive Phantom Lancer to carry the game. HR’s teamfight tools, provided by Disruptor, Slardar and Puck, enabled them to survive the Meepo initiations, and not even an Aegis steal from BZZ on Clockwerk could stop them from claiming the second place in group.

forZe will now join the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor qualifiers along with Gambit Esports from Group A. The LA Major qualifiers playoffs are kicking off today with Virtus.pro fighting against HellRaisers and Na’Vi playing versus Cyber Legacy. CIS has only two tickets to offer for the Major, but there are two slots yup for grabs in the Minor qualifiers as well.
