Playoffs at the DOTA Summit 11 Minor got underway on Friday in Los Angeles with the four remaining teams ready to enter the final battles that could see them reaching the MDL Chengdu Major but after some epic upper bracket series, one team would be eliminated in the first round of the lower bracket as jfshfh178 took on HellRaisers.

Two CIS squads entered the Minor just tow days ago and surprisingly to everyone, both made it out of they respective groups, avoiding elimination early in the event. However, that would all change in the final game of the first day of playoffs after both would suffer defeat in their upper bracket series earlier in the day. While HR were definitely the more well-known of the two teams, j178 had already impressed in the group stages as they were the ones to topple Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The series between the two was exactly what was expected from two of the top teams in the CIS region with fast paced drafts and intense team-fights too. The first two games of the series were fairly one-sided, with one team taking a lead and the other not being able to overcome the disadvantage and losing in the end – but it was all tied at 1-1 and a decisive game three was on the way. And what a final game it was with an absolutely show of dominance from HellRaisers. Only suffering 6 deaths throughout the entire 27-minute game, HR were able to trounce j178 in a brutal fashion, with Alexander ‘Nix’ Levin securing a RAMPAGE in the closing moments before the GG calls came out.

The victory sends the CIS squad forward into the lower bracket finals where they will fight against Chaos Esports Club in just under 12 hours at the time of writing. HellRaisers also secure themselves a guaranteed top 3 finish at their first ever Dota 2 Pro Circuit event and move one step closer to maybe reaching the Major. The final day of the DOTA Summit 11 Minor is only a few hours away as we get ready for the short road to the upcoming Chengdu Major.
