Day two in the group stages of DOTA Summit Season 11 Minor is well underway, and two teams have already secured a spot in the playoffs.

Invictus Gaming and Chaos Esports Club continued to show a superior form and cruised through the winners’ matchups of the round robin group stage to place themselves two series away from a possible ticket to the MDL Chengdu Major. The day opened with IG taking on jfshfh178 who gave the Chinese team a run for their money. IG started strong in game one, but they got out drafted in game two by the CIS squad, who secured a Luna-Lone Druid duo core that cut through buildings extremely fast. However, iG’s mid lane star from day one got to play Storm Spirit in the decisive game, and he once again put his enemies to shame with his plays, just like he did on day one on a record-breaking Invoker.

Moving forward, it was Chaos Esports Club who were theoretically up against a much more experienced squad and should have had to put in a lot more work for a playoffs spot. However, Geek Fam, Carlo “Kuku” Palad’s new team, crumbled under the pressure put on them in the laning stage by a Chaos Knight-Ancient Apparition duo safe lane, and then they were unable to survive the late stages with their mid lane – Rubick fading off pretty hard. They tried to force a game three from Chaos with the powerful Morphling-Earthshaker combo, but although the Morph had a rather good laning stage and got his Aghanim’s Scepter extremely fast, the execution wasn’t exactly on point. “That’s some really low skilled s*** to be honest,” said Arif “MSS” Anwar when he joined the couch for the winner’s interview in the Beyond the Summit house.

While IG and Chaos have now secured a top four finish, the ones who lost to them earlier today still have a shot at bouncing back and join the playoff bracket. jfshfh178 are facing Ninjas in Pyjamas, while Geek Fam will duel against HellRaisers in the last series of the day.
