Dota Summit 13 Southeast Asia kicked off today, October 21, with 10 teams starting the journey to the playoffs in a single round robin group stage format. Two squads earned their place in the $100,000 tournament via open qualifiers, joining another eight directly invited teams.

While most of the top teams answered Beyond the Summit’s call for the first tournament held for Southeast Asia with Valve’s financial support, Fnatic won’t be fighting for a shot at the title. The SEA powerhouse team is still consolidating their roster and although they brought back Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong last week, they are still in search of an offlane player.

TNC are in a similar situation, having to find a replacement for captain Park “March” Tae-won, who was released from the roster at the beginning of the month. However, they are playing the Dota Summit 13 with the former Geek Fam support Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon and have already secured their first 2-0 victory in the group stage.
