Information regarding the first Major of 2021 was leaked on the ONE Esports website on Friday night and it was also briefly displayed on Liquipedia.

Although neither ONE Esports nor PGL made an official announcement about the Major, the information on a now deleted page of ONE Esports website displayed the following details:

ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021

Location: Singapore Indoor Stadium

Prize pool: $500,000 and 2,700 DPC points split between the top 8 finishers

Regions seeding breakdown:

China: 4 teams

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs
• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage
• Third and fourth seed qualify to the Major Wild Card stage

Europe: 4 teams

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs
• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage
• Third and fourth seed qualify to the Major Wild Card stage

CIS: 3 teams

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs
• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage
• Third seed qualifies to the Major Wild Card stage

SEA: 3 teams:

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs
• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage
• Third seed qualifies to the Major Wild Card stage

North America: 2 teams

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs

• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage

South America: 2 teams

• Top seed qualifies to Major playoffs
• Second seed qualifies to Major group stage

Liquipedia had also displayed the tournament format, however, the information is not available anymore. According to the page that was live briefly last night, the ONE Esports Singapore Major will feature three stages as follows:

Wild Card:

• 6 teams, single round-robin, two-game series
• Top two teams advance to Major group stage, the rest are eliminated

Group Stage:

• 8 teams, single round-robin, two-game series
• Top 2 teams advance to the Major Upper Bracket playoffs
• 3rd to 6th placed teams advance to the Major Lower Bracket playoffs
• 7th-8th placed teams are eliminated

Playoffs:

• 12 teams, double elimination bracket

ONE Esports and PGL should have hosted last year the last Major of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit. Like all other LAN tournaments scheduled past March 2020, the Singapore 2020 Major got canceled and the joint efforts of the two organizers were put on hold along with the entire DPC schedule.

While none of the parties involved made any official announcements regarding the first Major of 2021, according to the 2021 DPC schedule released by Valve, the first Major of the year will end the first season of Regional Leagues and it will be held March 25th – April 4th.
