With the third set of Dota Pro Circuit Major and Minor tournaments slated to unfold next month in Los Angeles, California and Kyiv Ukraine, the regional qualifiers are set to start later this week.
All regions should technically start the open qualifiers on the 7th of February, however, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Chinese teams were informed today, February the 4th, that the open qualifiers got postponed by Valve. The announcement was posted by Huomao TV, the CN qualifiers host, in a WeChat group with all the Chinese teams.
The message translates:
“Latest update: due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Valve has decided to postpone the CN open qualifier and the ensuing closed qualifier for the Los Angeles Major. The new date for the open qualifier will be February 12th, while the time for the closed qualifier is yet to be decided. Please continue your team’s registration on Perfect World’s PVP platform for the open qualifier.”
For now, no other official updates were made by Valve or ESL One. Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia, North and South America open and closed regional qualifiers should unfold according to the already announced schedule: open qualifiers February 7-8, closed qualifiers February 9-12.
