TNC Predator win the MDL Chengdu Major

It’s still early in the DPC season and most major teams are skipping events, but TNC Predator can proudly call themselves the best team of the circuit so far. After winning ESL Hamburg, TNC set their eyes on the MDL Chengdur Major — and they almost aced it as well.

Vici Gaming were the only team who took a series off of TNC, but the SEA squad climbed back up from the lower bracket to exact their revenge, beating VG in the grand final. Counting WESG, ESL One Hamburg, and the two qualifiers they played, TNC are up to a 25-2-1 record — an early tour de force in the DPC season.

Na’Vi completes Dota 2 roster with top support player

Na’Vi are back? Well, we’ll have to see about that, but at least the storied CIS org has a complete roster now. After captain Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev was benched in the wake of failed Major and Minor qualifiers, Na’Vi needed a new support and they found him in Illias “illias” Ganeev — a 17-year-old pub star player who ranks in the top 5 of his position.

The next major LAN for Na’Vi is the ONE Esports World Pro Invitational, where a lot of top teams will be attending, including Team Secret,. Evil Geniuses, Vici Gaming, and Team Liquid.

Dignitas looking to sign f0rest, friberg, xizt

2019 is looking to be Dignitas’ Renaissance. After re-entering League of Legends, Dignitas now look to form a CS:GO roster too, and are eyeballing some true legends of the game.

According to reports, Dignitas are looking to sign Adam “friberg” Friberg, Richard “Xizt” Landström, and Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, all of whom were once team-mates on the legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas. f0rest is still contracted to NiP, but xizt is sitting on the Fnatic bench and friberg is a free agent, so they both could be an easy grab for Dignitas.

CS:GO pros are not happy with weapon changes

On Nov. 18, Valve delivered a CS:GO patch that was made to balance out the weapons, and especially the much talked about SG 553 (Krieg). They did, but not as many might’ve hoped. Krieg was made more expensive, but FAMAS and Galil were both buffed by being cheaper, which angered not one or two pro players.

“At this point, it’s getting sad. I wonder how this idea came up. Let CS be CS and stop fucking around with the economy. It’s not working,” Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen said on Twitter.

Valve announce Half-Life: Alyx, a new VR game

No, Valve still can’t count to three, but at least we know the Half-Life universe is not completely dead. The developer dropped news of Half-Life: Alyx, a brand new VR game set between Half-Life and Half-Life 2, and — to be honest — it looks better than any other VR app on the market.

The bad news is that, at least for now, HL: Alyx will only be playable via VR headsets, so if you don’t want to invest in the technology, you’ll have to wait (perhaps forever) until you can fool around in Alyx.

Riot Games issues harsh punishment on Griffin and cvMax

The many-fold drama around Griffin, former coach Kim “cvMax” Dae-ho, and former director Ch Gyu-nam is still going strong, now in its second month. The latest development comes from Riot Games, who — after investigating the allegedly rule-breaking loan of Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok —found a whole lot wrong with the team.

cvMax has received an infinite ban for verbal and physical abuse of the Griffin players. Director Cho has received an infinite ban too, for breaking the rules of loaning a minor like Kanavi. And Griffin have been fined $85,000 and issued a final warning that another mistake like this could cost them their LCK slot.

The story is developing.
