ESL One Los Angeles Online’s group stages ended today with all 16 teams seeing action but four from each group being eliminated – and for Group B, that was decided before the day’s games were over.

Team Liquid were already eliminated from ESL One LA Online two days ago, having not won a single series – but yesterday, somehow the team managed to finally find their stride and pull off a victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas. It was too little too late for the squad but that didn’t stop them from recording another victory today over Natus Vincere, thus ensuring that the CIS squad would end Group B in last place. For NiP, the loss a few days ago followed by a loss to a rather dominant Team Spirit today meant that they too would see their tournament lives come to an end.

With Team Secret going completely unbeaten at the top of the group, it was obvious that they would be the number one seed for some time and following close behind them would be Spirit – both heading to the upper bracket of playoffs. Alliance and Chicken Fighters were the ones to finish in third and fourth respectively, following a great series between the two to end the day and the group – with Team Unique being the final elimination from the group.

Now that the Group stages are over, we look to the playoffs in which the ranks will be thinned out even more tomorrow as two teams are eliminated in the lower bracket. The lower and upper bracket series for tomorrow are:

Lower Bracket

  • Team Nigma versus Chicken Fighters
  • Vikin.gg versus Alliance

Upper Bracket

  • Virtus.pro versus Team Spirit
  • Team Secret versus OG

With some absolutely amazing series to look forward to tomorrow and over the next few days at ESL One Los Angeles Online, we’re excited to see just who will come out on top – especially with two separate teams going completely unbeaten through the group stage.
