With the group stages of WePlay! Pushka League quickly drawing to an end, many teams were fighting to claw their way out from the elimination and relegation zone, including B8 – who were up against Virtus.pro to close the day.
B8’s WePlay! Pushka League journey, much like the rest of their events this year, has been met with disappointment as they have been unable to find a win so far. Today they had another chance to find victory, but their opponents would be the peaking Virtus.pro, who, while going completely unbeaten at the recent ESL One Los Angeles Online event, had suffered a few defeats so far in this event – giving B8 some hope to move out of last spot.
Going into the series, VP seemed to be ready to take everything from B8 as they easily secured the first game. There was nothing too flashy, with just meticulously play from the squad as Igor ‘ILTW’ Filatov’s Lycan ran rings around their opponents. With things were far more even in game two, and B8 definitely had a shot at tying the series, the experience and cool headedness of VP came into play as they secured the second game in a little over half an hour.
Unfortunately for B8, the lose puts them at 0-4 and essentially sees them eliminated from the WePlay! Pushka League, with only two series left to play. However, the team could maybe avoid this if certain teams were to lose their upcoming games, but it seems unlikely, considering that B8 would also require wins over both VP.Prodigy and FlyToMoon.
WePlay! Pushka League returns tomorrow with some massive series such as Team Liquid versus OG.Seed and HellRaises versus Team Spirit.
