DreamLeague Season 12 kicked off earlier today with its group stages getting underway from Rotterdam, Netherlands. For group B, one team was clearly a cut above the rest as they went unbeaten throughout the day.
Six teams were competing at DreamLeague Season 12 and they would be split into two groups of three for the group stage of the tournament. Group B featured the likes of Alliance, sporting their latest roster, as well as FlyToMoon and J.Storm. Even though this was the first LAN event of the season, Alliance came out swinging, unrelenting in their pursuit to the top of their group. Their top seed means that they will only have a single series tomorrow against the victors of group A – the winner claiming their spot in the grand finals of the event.
With the Chengdu Major on the cards for Alliance in just a few weeks, this event is a great proving ground for them, especially since they opened the day with a quick 2-0 of Major rivals, J.Storm followed by a victory over FTM in the group’s final series. While J.Storm may have the Chengdu Major to look forward to, the team seem to still be struggling to fill the gaps left by Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok when he departed under a month ago. That said, no teams would be eliminated on the first day of the event and thus they would join FTM in the lower bracket tomorrow.
Group A is still underway with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid and Demon Slayers all fighting to claim the top spot and avoid the lower bracket. Tomorrow will kick of with a plethora of elimination series and by the end of the day only two teams will remain to fight for the title of DreamLeague Season 12 champions.
