Four teams are already out of contention for a spot at either the first Major or the first Minor of the new season. The European qualifiers reached the playoffs stage and with some of the biggest competitors in the region still on a break, the reformed Alliance, Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas have now a big opportunity to seize a good advantage in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings.
All three of them enter the new season with new rosters, and so far it looks like all of them have a good chance to grab a ticket for the MDL Chengdu Major. Team Liquid, who are now playing with the full former roster of TI9 Alliance, took the first seed in Group A with three clean victories and a draw versus Hippomaniacs. Team Singularity placed second and thus moved forward into the Major qualifiers playoffs. In Group B, the new Alliance line-up led by Adrian “Fata” Trinks playing for the first time in his career from position 5 support, placed first, followed by Peter “ppd” Dager’s new Ninjas in Pyjamas roster. The European qualifiers playoffs resume today, October 7 with the four teams playing in a double elimination bracket, best-of-three games. Upper and lower bracket winners will head to the Chengdu Major, while the losers will go to the DOTA Summit 11 Minor qualifiers.
Third placed teams in the group stage, Ascomanni from Group A and Ad Finem from Group, respectively will also fight starting tomorrow for a shot at reaching the Minor in Los Angeles.
