Two days ago VPEsports learned that Vici Gaming are currently testing a few players for a potential roster change. It was their abysmal performance in the DreamLeague, Stockholm Major that triggered the harsh decision, and perhaps coupled with their inability to go beyond top eight at the previous two Majors.

According to our sources, VG are playing musical chairs within their roster right now to find a solution to fit in Sun “Agressif” Zheng and Shen “Wudi” Chao. Reportedly, Zhou “Yang” Haiyang will move from the offlane role into a support position, however, it wasn’t clear which of the supports would get removed from the roster.

Yesterday, Vici Gaming’s captain and position 4 support made a few comments to one of his older posts.

Fade

“Happy New Year, wish everything goes freaking well,” reads Fade’s initial post. One of his fans replied to him yesterday “Fade, fighting!  You will be stronger after leaving VG, just like Fy.” The comment sparked a small conversation between Fade and his followers and it brought to light the fact that he is the one who will be benched for the upcoming StarLadder ImbaTV Minor qualifiers. “I’ve always wanted to win and achieve good results for the club. But I can’t do that anymore,” is the last reply of Fade to one of his fans. The entire Weibo conversation is as follows:

Fade

Translation:

Fade: Happy New Year, wish everything goes freaking well

Follower: Fade, fighting!  You will be stronger after leaving VG, just like Fy.

Fade: Thanks, but I haven’t left yet, everyone just wants the best for the club so I respect their decision. I’m still with VG.

Follower: Nail the Minor and earn your ticket to the Stockholm Major.

Fade: I won’t have the chance.

Follower: I feel bad for you, you seem like a player who wants to win.

Fade: Hahahaha “seem like”? I’ve always wanted to win and achieve good results for the club. But I can’t do that anymore.

Vici Gaming, Team Aster, Royal Never Give up and Room 310 will enter the battle for the two slots up for grabs in the Chinese qualifiers for the Minor on the 11th of February. It is expected that VG will announce a final version of their roster a little bit before the competition starts.
