A few weeks ago, Tigers announced the addition of both Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung and Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin to their squad and it was a coming together of two Dota 2 greats that we were all looking forward to seeing. But after that announcement, it seems as though Tigers have signed up for the upcoming StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor without Mushi.
Since Mushi and Dendi joined Tigers the team have had two attempts at getting into events; the Open Qualifiers for Southeast Asia for ESL One Mumbai 2019 as well as the DreamLeague Season 11 Open Qualifiers. For ESL One Mumbai, the team were up against some of the biggest names in the region, all trying to claim the single spot in the Closed qualifier. Unfortunately, when it came to the deciding match-up where they faced up against an almost entirely unknown Vietnamese squad, 496 Gaming, Tigers fell. The team then went on to the next qualifiers, but this time they were eliminated in the first round and it seemed as though they just needed some time playing together… time which they apparently did not have.
With the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor qualifiers coming up, teams have begun to signup for the open qualifiers and it seems that the Tigers squad is missing Mushi. The replacement for him according to the above picture is Kim ‘Velo’ Tae-sung, who currently plays for WarriorsGaming.Unity. It is undetermined at the time of writing whether or not this is a permanent change to the roster or if there is a reason the team is using a stand-in for the event.
A few days ago, a Tweet from Mineski’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) was seen which mentioned Mushi, Jabz Ice and Mike. This was just after Michael ‘ninjaboogie’ Ross departed from the TNC Predator roster so it is possible that there is more linked to this Tweet. However, since then the Tweet has been deleted and all we have left is a screenshot posted below.
We will continue to follow this story and keep you update on what is going on within the Southeast Asia Dota 2 world as information becomes available.
