12 years after Valve’s last visit to Half-Life, it’s time to go back. Half-Life: Alyx has been announced and while it’s not picking up the story following the conclusion of Half-Life 2, it’s got fans of the series incredibly excited.
Alyx is set to take place in the time between Half-Life and Half-Life 2 and looks as amazing as ever in terms of graphics. The game will be focused on Alyx Vance and her father Eli as they take on the Combine.
It’s important to note that Half-Life: Alyx will be available only in Virtual Reality. The game will be compatible with any PC VR headset and those who own Valve’s Index VR headset will be getting the game for free. Don’t have one? Well, it’s going to cost you $59.99 to grab the game when it comes out. The release date is currently set for March, 2020. Don’t stress guys, you’ve waited 12 years, you can wait four more months.
There’s still a lot that fans of the game don’t know about the Half-Life universe and with some big questions as to how things changed from the first title in the series to the second. Half-Life: Alyx should help to answer some of those questions and hey, with enough support it may even push Valve for a Half-Life 3….right?
