Another major move has taken place in the streaming world as Michael “shroud” Grzesiek has officially left Twitch for platform rival Mixer.

The gaming world was shaken when Tyler “Ninja” Blevins made the move in August with many talks of more to come. I think to many it seemed maybe more wasn’t to be as nearly three months had gone by before the announcement that shroud would be joining the popular streamer.

This is another big hit to Twitch which has been under a lot of scrutiny lately for their handling of various situations.

Losing some of their most popular streams is certainly something to be concerned about and begs the question as to what else Mixer has in store for the community.

One of the biggest differences in this move versus Ninja’s apart from it being a continuation and shows Mixer had bigger plans (duh) is shroud’s choice of games.

Ninja has been quite largely Fortnite only on stream and therefore didn’t draw too much of a crowd from other titles to the Mixer platform. shroud is known to swap things up between games like Apex Legends, Counter-Strike, World of Warcraft, Rainbow Six, and more while also jumping into new titles.

This battle between the platforms is far from over and while Twitch has shown efforts lately to improve the functionality of their site in terms of the ad experience and monetization features, it seems Mixer is working on a whole new set of things itself.
