Richard “shox” Papillon’s time on the bench won’t be as long as originally expected. According to a report from 1pv.fr, a deal has been met to move the 27-year-old player from G2 Esports to Team Vitality.
The article states that both sides made sacrifices with G2 lowering their asking price while Vitality raised their offer.
Originally it was reported that both Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey and shox were highly likely recruits to replace Nathan “NBK” Schmitt following his removal from the active roster during the StarLadder Major in Berlin. Since then though, kioShiMa had become the expected addition given the high asking price for shox coupled with a completely free of charge kioShiMa thanks to his free agency.
Vitality had already pulled out of one event due to not being able to field a roster. Their replacement in Moscow at the BLAST Pro Series event has done quite well for themselves with forZe making a grand finals appearance.
It is believed that the price for shox was dropped to somewhere between $350,00 to $450,000 down from the originally expected $500,000 to $700,000.
Expected Team Vitality CS:GO roster:
-Alex “ALEX” McMeekin
-Dan “apEX” Madesclaire
-Cédric “RpK” Guipouy
-Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
-Richard “shox” Papillon
