Esports organization Rogue have announced the signing of Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen to their Counter-Strike division. The Danish player comes from OpTic Gaming’s CS:GO squad where he’d been for the past three months.
OpTic chose to bring in new and young blood in the form of Ismail “refrezh” Ali following recent impressive performances. One of these performances came with the new Cloud9 roster where he performed better than expected and was even considered as becoming a permanent fixture with the North American organization.
Making room for the newest addition of Rogue will be fellow Dane Jesper “TENZKI” Plougmann who had joined the team to fill the void left by Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland who has since been signed with compLexity.
niko joins Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen as the duo from Denmark in Rogue while the remaining three still keep the North American majority of the team. niko played briefly under MSL when playing on loan with North back at DreamHack Masters Stockholm in 2018, one of the only events Astralis didn’t win in the last year.
The teams new lineup will make their first showing soon enough as they compete in the IEM Sydney North American open qualifier this weekend.
