With the OpTic Gaming roster still working on finding an organization, it appears they’ll now be doing so with a new lineup. René “cajunb” Borg will join the squad in place of Ismail “refrezh” Ali according to posts from the players involved and Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen, the teams in-game leader.
cajunb has been inactive since his short time with Cloud9 came to a close. He will now return to a Danish lineup and reunite with MSL and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke.
MSL provided his thoughts on the roster move via a TwitLonger, explaining that “after 4 months of ups an downs, we have decided to make a roster change.” In terms of why it was cajunb, the Danish in-game leader had the following to say: “having played with cajunb in the past and during the qualifier, we felt he was the guy we needed. In the qualifier we played as a team and it felt like we finally clicked in-game. He brings a lot of experience, stability, and doesn’t make many mistakes (which is rare these days) and is really good individually.”
This news isn’t the only he shared though as he shed some light on the current situation regarding the organization. Needing to find a new home outside of OpTic relatively soon due to them already having a CS:GO team in the form of MIBR, the player once again urged interested parties to reach out. Teams wishing to move the squad to the U.S. need not apply, however, as he stated “want to make it clear we’re not interested in moving to the US.”
The team has some stock currently and will be attending ESL One New York, DreamHack Masters Malmø, ESL Pro League and ECS in the coming months.
