Tarik “tarik” Celik will be replacing Jacob “FugLy” Medina on the NRG Esports Counter-Strike roster. According to sources close to the organization, the deal is done and the contract has been signed by the Turkish player.

Formerly of Cloud9 and then briefly on MIBR, tarik had been teamless going into the Major and had previously stated he would be assessing his options following the event. Apparently it won’t be taking that long as he joins up with NRG. tarik had left Cloud9 to join former Major winning teammate Jake “stewie2k” Yip on the newly created MIBR roster. This would prove to be rather fruitless as the organization would eventually elect to seek an all Brazilian roster once more after a list of poor results. This would leave tarik without a home while stewie joined up with Team Liquid in place of Epitácio “TACO” de Melo who would reunite with his former teammates.

This change comes on the heels of a disappointing finish at the Legends Stage of the 2019 IEM Katowice Major which saw NRG go 0-3 losing to Ninjas in Pyjamas, AVANGAR, and most unexpectedly to compLexity. During this stage, NRG had a 62-73 round difference good for a -11..
