Liquid have officially been revealed as the ninth team set to attend DreamHack Masters Dallas. The North American mix joins the likes of FaZe, Vitality, North, Ninjas in Pyjamas, FURIA, G2, and Windigo. Five more invites are set to go out alongside the Chinese and Asian qualifiers to determine the remaining seven spots.

The $250,000 event will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Sixteen teams will be battling it out for the trophy and lion’s share of the prize pool.

The last time we saw Liquid in action was at the BLAST Pro Series São Paulo event where they made a grand final appearance against the dominant Astralis. Unlike the iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 event, this time Liquid would fall 2-1 after a map one victory on Dust2.

The team hasn’t been performing at the level we saw prior to the roster swap that saw them gain Jake “stewie2k” Yip, however, there have been glimpses of what could come to be with this lineup. If the team can contend with Astralis on a second map, it could certainly give them a run at really being a thorn in the Danish side on a consistent basis. Their other concern here is it seems Na’Vi, ENCE, and Renegades are showing an upswing that could peak at a time when Liquid is on the cusp of breaking through Astralis’ hold.
