Two more teams will be traveling to the Windy City to compete in IEM Chicago 2019. G2 and Renegades have joined the list of teams set to compete starting on Thursday, July 18th. This leaves only two spots open for the event, both of which will be filled by a qualifier – one in North America and one in Europe.

G2 is currently active and playoff bound at the ESL Pro League season 9 finals where they’ve earned a spot in quarterfinals by taking down Heroic & Cloud9. Renegades are looking to get back to the form they presented at the IEM Katowice Major prior to visa issues forcing them to use a stand-in for several events.

Being held at the United Center, IEM Chicago 2019 will have its group stage played on Thursday and Friday with fans able to watch the event live in the 23,500 person arena on Saturday and Sunday.

The event was originally and is still being presented as a North America vs. Europe battle, however, the Brazilians of MIBR and Renegades from Australia will be representing North America as this is the region they compete in professionally for leagues.
