I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. FURIA is the real deal. The Brazilian team that was just seen as a potential up and comer months ago has stormed into the spotlight and shown they’re more than a potential upset.

The team has become a consistent force, taking down or winning maps against the likes of fnatic, Vitality, Astralis, and ENCE. The team had accumulated a 19-0 streak on Nuke prior to Liquid defeating them 16-13 at the DreamHack Masters Dallas finals.

Moving into the ECS Finals where FURIA has earned another finals appearance, the Brazilian side opened up with a 16-14 win over Astralis on Nuke once again proving Nuke is in their comfort zone.

The momentum wouldn’t continue into the winners match as NRG 2-0’d them, besting them on their own map pick of Nuke. This would leave Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and company face to face with the Danes of Astralis yet again. It would be Astralis to pick up the first map on this occasion, taking Inferno 16-12 to get the 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. It would be a tightly contested series but a 16-10 win on Mirage would send them two teams to yet another battle on Nuke where FURIA proved they are the better team in this battle.

While you may doubt them for a lackluster schedule thanks to being in the Mountain Dew League rather than the ESL Pro League, you can’t ignore their results and the level at which they’re playing the best of the best.

Back-to-back finals.
