After a lot of speculation as to who deserves, should get, and more in regards to Rogues spot in the ESL Pro League for season 9, it has been decided.

ESL has revealed that Luminosity Gaming will be the team to move up and into the division. According to the official announcement, this decision was arrived at because “Luminosity Gaming are currently the best North American team in the ESL World Ranking which is not part of Pro League. They have further proven to be a stable roster over the past months and are the strongest candidate to complete the North American team lineup.”

Had a majority of the Rogue roster chosen to stick together, they would have had the ability to maintain their spot, however, both Hunter “SicK” Mims and Daniel “vice” Kim have found new homes in North America while Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen and Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen have joined OpTic Gaming in Denmark.

Rogue dissolved its CS:GO division at the end of March following a long string of inconsistency in their roster due to players leaving. Rogue would go on to state this would be the end of their run in CS:GO for the timebeing. The organization cited an unwillingness to rebuild their roster for the third time in recent history and with the limited time to do so thanks to impending roster locks.
