Ricky “floppy” Kemery has elected to maintain his position on Cloud9 with a new contract and a new lineup. The 20-year-old will be sticking around the Cloud9 organization as he’s been officially signed as the new “colossus” lineups fourth player.
In typical fashion, Henry “HenryG” Greer shared the details of the deal in a post to Twitter. floppy has been signed to a three year deal with a value of $432,000 which is quite a bit lower than his previous signings.
He took the feedback of the community into account, however, and posted a follow up tweet elaborating on why this is. “I sign each player and negotiate their deals on an individual basis. Ricky has received a pay increase from his previous contract and that will be reviewed each year of his stay,” Greer said. This means that while floppy has certainly seen the smallest contract on the team, it’s by no means a weak one or one he’s going to be unable to get more out of.
floppy had an impressive end to 2019 and 2020 thus far and has earned his place on the new roster thanks to that performance. Now he’ll get to test it with a new team in a new environment as they compete in Europe for now as an international mix.
Cloud9’s new roster now is:
- Alex “ALEX” McMeekin
- William “mezii” Merriman
- Özgür “woxic” Eker
- Ricky “floppy” Kemery
- Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović (coach)
Former Cloud9 South African-American lineup left with:
- Johnny “JT” Theodosiou
- Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek
- Josh “oSee” Ohm
- Ian “motm” Hardy
- Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (coach)
