The grand final is set. The Danish powerhouse that is Astralis will take on the Australian and New Zealand mix of 100 Thieves in Beijing.

It was a story of opposites in the IEM Beijing semifinals with 100 Thieves battling through three maps against Vitality with an intense 16-14 map two. 100 Thieves would pull away with it and force the third map of Inferno where they dominated the Frenchmen 16-2. This is the first event for the roster under the 100 Thieves banner and a finals appearance is a great way to kick things off.

On the flip side, Astralis never broke a sweat as they dismantled the new era of FaZe Clan 16-0 and 16-2. This is payback for Astralis as they were defeated with a similar scoreline on a best-of-one at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen which FaZe went on to win.

Astralis already took down 100 Thieves once in this event 16-10 and 16-9 in the Group A winners’ match which saw the Danes through to the playoffs. Another thing to note is the maps on which they competed. The two maps that 100 Thieves were able to best FaZe on are the same two which they’ve already lost to Astralis on and it wasn’t exactly super close.

The map pools will be tested, however, with the grand final being a best-of-five. Who is your pick to win?
