FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike roster is still very much up in the air according to various rumors and with ESL One New York just a week away, someone is needed to fill the spot left vacant by Filip “NEO” Kubski.
NEO had served as a stand-in for the team as they looked toward the future after ending the trial of Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev.
According to a report from Cybersport.pl, Helvijs “broky” Saukants will do just that. The 18-year-old Latvian player has been seen practicing with the team over recent days and is now expected to appear alongside the team in the big apple.
broky had been a member of Epsilon Esports until recently when he became a free agent. He’s been on the radar of many teams recently as he’s continued to make noise as one of the most promising players making their way up the ranks.
Whether or not broky will become a permanent member of the team is still unknown. Many fans are still awaiting news as to whether Marcelo “coldzera” David is getting any closer to joining the organization as has been expected for some time.
With Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács expected to leave the team and reunite with Natus Vincere this would leave enough room for both broky and coldzera to join the team.
ESL One New York will kick off on September 26 and run through the 29th and feature a prize pool of $200,000. In order to claim the prize, the winner will have to earn a spot in the grand final where they’ll have to battle it out in a best-of-five series in front of the Barclay Center audience.
