Ten days ago, Cloud9 saw long-time player Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham taking a break from competitive gaming. The American player used to be one of the top snipers and had declined in recent times, despite an outstanding showing at the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018.
If the change makes sense on paper for C9, the team now has to find a 5th player. While the team is composed of two Americans and two Swedish players, it seems unlikely to see the organization look for a European player.
But while they are looking around for the right player, the team still has to play in various tournaments. Cloud9 will be in Copenhagen to play a BLAST Pro Series event on 2nd and 3rd of November alongside big names like Astralis, Na’Vi, MIBR, FaZe and NiP.
According to our information, Skadoodle won’t be playing the BLAST event and no player is expected to join the team as official 5th before the event.
The team will then play with the French player Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey as a stand-in for the Danish event. The former FaZe and EnVyUs player is looking for a new project and explained on Twitter that he was really motivated to comeback.
He recently played the first European Minor Open Qualifier in a mix team called LeftOut with ScreaM, xms, nukkye and Maikelele and lost in a close match to Vitality in the RO16 of the qualifier. While in bootcamp with C9 the next week, he shouldn’t be able to play with LeftOut the second Open Qualifier.
Cloud9 will play BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen with:
Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Will “RUSH” Wierzba
Maikil “Golden” Selim
Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
