Between Jan. 16-26, the four Minor championships for the IEM Katowice Major will take place. The tournaments will determine the ten teams to advance to the New Challengers Stage in Poland and compete to win the first Major of 2019.

Each Minor features 8 teams, split into GSL double elimination groups. The top 4 teams then advance to a double elimination bracket to decide the final standings. The top 2 teams from there will punch their ticket to the Katowice Major. Then, the four 3rd-place teams from each Minor championship will be seeded into a separate play-in bracket, where the top 2 will also qualify for Katowice.

The Europe and CIS Minors will come first, taking place Jan. 16-20. A number of high-tier teams are slated to play, including mousesports, OpTic  Gaming and North in Europe and Gambit Esports in CIS. Americas’ and Asia’s Minors will follow the next week, featuring the likes of EnVy, Renegades and MVP PK.
