ESL One Cologne just got kicked up a notch. The world’s number one team has confirmed their attendance at the Cathedral of Counter-Strike for 2019.

The Danish squad will be looking to continue their hot streak from 2018 straight into 2019’s first few months and beyond. While the Major is certainly what’s on their mind right now, following it up with an ESL One Cologne victory a few months later would be more than the icing on top.

Last year saw Astralis knocked out by Natus Vincere in the semifinals of the event which would be a tough pill to swallow as Na’Vi would go on to hoist the trophy.

The event is scheduled to run from July 5 to 7 at the LANXESS Arena in Germany. A total of 16 teams will be fighting for the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize purse and a trophy from one of the most prestigious events in Counter-Strike.

Last years finalists were both announced prior to Astralis as Na’Vi and BIG look to repeat their runs. With a few more big name teams certainly being looked at, this event should be an amazing chance for rosters to show what they’ve got at the halfway more in 2019.
