After we saw many amazing roster shuffles coming out from the Chinese Dota 2 region, a few teams would be seen playing their first events with their changes – namely, Team Aster and PSG.LGD, who were fighting in the opening series at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1.
Team Aster were one of the first to see changes in the Chinese region as they released both Kee Chyuan “Chyuan” Ng and Song “Sccc” Chun and brought in both Du “Monet” Peng and Liu “白学家” Yuhao. Just yesterday, PSG.LGD confirmed their new roster, as the region’s roster shuffle came to a close with a string of ex-EHOME players and Wang “Ame” Chunyu making up the new squad. Today, these two teams would be playing in their first series with these new teams as the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1 got underway.
Going into the first game of the series, it seemed as though LGD were far from finding their footing as Aster stomped them with a nearly unkillable Zeus for their new mid-laner. But, with Ame on a Juggernaut in game two, LGD found their fight and the team begun to shine as they tied up the series and pushed into final and decisive third game. With a Goblin Techies picked up by Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, we expected to see some fireworks, especially with his farm being on par with most of the LGD squad. However, his thunder was stolen by his team with Ame’s Faceless Void and Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida claiming their fair share of the kills.
With a reverse sweep 2-1 victory, PSG.LGD set themselves up to show off their new roster by taking down Aster at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1. The team’s next series will be on Saturday, September 19th, when they will be put to the test by Invictus Gaming’s unchanged roster, while Aster will look to bounce back next week against the new and fairly unknown LBZS stack.
