VP.Prodigy’s carry, Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko becomes the second CIS player to reach the incredible 11,000 matchmaking rating (MMR) milestone.
Earlier this week, Danil “gpk” Skutin was the first CIS player to join the Southeast Asia representatives Azel “Abed” Yusop and Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon in the very small for now 11K MMR club, and interestingly enough, all four players with 11K MMR are playing either carry or mid lane.
The current matchmaking season is the longest to date, having been released nearly one year ago on the 19th of September 2019. None of the previous seasons lasted more than six to nine months before Valve reset the leaderboards and it’s anticipated that those who hope to enter the 11k MMR club won’t have too much time left.
While both gpk and Abed are currently standing in for Evil Geniuses and Geek Fam respectively, and have a weekly tournament schedule to follow, both 23savage and epileptick1d have a bit more free time at their disposal to push the MMR numbers as high as possible.
epileptick1d hasn’t had an official match since end of July, when he and his team finished the OGA Dota PIT Season 2: Europe CIS division run in the top six. Prior to that, VP.Prodigy were crushing the opposition in the online regional tournaments, winning the StayHome Challenge in April, the first season of Epic Prime League in May and placing second in the WePlay! Pushka League Season 1 in the same month.
